Fighting Dad Bod

Dad's Guide to Staying Fit

If you're a parent you know all about sacrifices made in an effort to raise children right. The job of a parent is extremely demanding leaving you with… not enough time..not enough energy…not enough money.

Hence, Dad Bod

It doesn’t have to be this way though, you don’t have to sacrifice time spent with your family for hours at the gym or starving yourself.. you too can take action and start Fighting Dad Bod.

Get Up Early and do SOMETHING

Chances are your babies are up and wired so might as well join the club. Do it with enthusiasm and excitement, your house will feed off the energy and get the day started in the right direction. Stretch, walk, abs, curls, whatever. Learn to love rising early, the most productive people in the world have this trait, it is extremely valuable

Drink Lots of Water

This one is a no brainer. Provided you have access to clean water (something taken for granted) this is the easiest thing you can do to take steps for a healthier you. Pickup water bottles for your crew and make it a habit to drink more water.

Dedicated Spot to Get Active

Throw down a couple yoga mats and find a medicine ball. I can be as easy as that. You’ll get more out of somewhere dedicated specifically to being active then you would any other ordinary place in the house. This can also be a good motivational piece to get some momentum for a big weight loss move. *Be careful not to get carried away here, you don’t need to spend a ton of money to get outcome.

PLAY Like a Child

Ever tried mirroring an adolescents every move? It’s exhausting..and they don’t even sweat! There is no excuse why any able bodied person can’t try this one. This also helps you not to take life too seriously. Seeing the world through a child's eye gives you a whole new perspective.

Eat Clean

It’s really easy to eat processed, unhealthy, fast food these days. For us, Fast food means something a little different. It’s really fast and simple to put together a protein and vegetable dinner. Most nights its roasted root vegetables or a salad and a steak or piece of fish. Less is more fill up on lean and clean foods 80% of the time and go nuts 20%.. (okay more like 50/50).

There’s no denying the health benefits to fighting Dad Bod but let’s be honest, when you look better you feel better and vise versa. Let’s do it for our wifeys and significant others.

Like my mother-in-law always says, moderation is key. Find ways to promote a healthy balance that works best for you and your family.
